texts are transcribed from various sources -- everyday life, philosophy
and art. Using fragmented sentences, language is presented elusively
to suggest its transformative and buoyant qualities. Clipped works
in patent leather and vinyl present the slipperiness of language,
while crocheted, rubberized nylon and cast and forged metal comically
twist and curl in animated space.
Using fully saturated inks, drawings transcribe my ideas onto paper.
Created as liquid spillages from the mouth, the drawings are active
in form and visual vibrations inferring the malleable quality language
continually reveals. Forms and ideas undulate between structure
and elusiveness -–implying that language is under constant
r/evolution; reshaping our world physically and imaginatively. In
these works I attempt to bring forth the temporal attributes language
offers as it articulates and names our world.
